It’s Not About Being Great
I’m not great at what I do. And I don’t need to be. That’s not false modesty; it’s just the truth. I’ve made a living being good enough at a lot of different things—film, photography, design, music videos—and it’s all worked out because I kept showing up. I don’t need to inspire people to be the best; I want to inspire people to get in the game, to be the fifth man on the team. You don’t need to be LeBron James to have a career. You just need to be on the court.
